Dr. Jillian G. Shoichet

PhD, MPub, BA, TESL

Jillian is a senior policy analyst with the British Columbia Office of Legislative Counsel on the west coast of Canada. Before taking on this role, she was an editor in the same office, editing legislation for the provincial government. She has been an academic, government, corporate, legislative, and legal editor (of books, journals, and other publications) for more than two decades.

Jillian’s clients include UBC Press, the Royal BC Museum, the Canadian Mental Health Association, the BC Ministry of Health, the Canadian Centre for Studies in Publishing, Simon Fraser University’s Distance Learning program, and academic and professional authors across Canada, the United States, and Europe.

As a university lecturer in the areas of editing, professional and applied communications, publishing, publishing history, and English grammar and fluency, Jillian has taught at the University of Victoria, Simon Fraser University, and Royal Roads University.
